  • Tempovox!

To my fellow TV editors and producers
(and anyone else who cares to read)

Last night I was having a
strange series of dreams.  My current circumstances are generating this
madness, of course, so the strangeness just comes with the somnambulent territory.   But last night, there arrived in my head a concept so interesting and useful that I'd like to share with you, my beloved
    colleagues.

At the very end of my dream, there I was, sitting at my edit desk.
I turned around.  Hovering over me was some producer I never saw before.

"Let's add some Tempovox," was what he said.

    I was like, "What?"

He went on.  "You know.  'Tempovox.'  Temporary Voice Over."

"Oh yeah. Right. Let's get you set up with the mic so we can record some tempovox," was my response.

See, I just roll with it, even in my dreams.

Actually, I like this new sleep-induced TV term.  It's fresh, funky, exclusive, and oh so high-end.  I don't know about you guys but from now on I'm not cutting scratch VO--I'm recording TEMPOVOX!

    Sincerely,
    Ed Kaz!
