  • It's easy being green ...

It's been brought to my attention recently that there is actually an album entitled Best of Sugarloaf.  Huh? Wha?  Sugarloaf had other hits besides Green Eyed Lady?  You sure?  Even Norman Greenbaum has questioned the validity of this record.

Well, it turns out I was wrong.  Sugarloaf had a whole bunch of hits.  How the heck could I have forgotten these?

    BEST OF SUGARLOAF

    Side One:
    1. Green-Eyed Lady
    2. Green-Eyed Lady (Diddy Remix)
    3. Green-Eyed Lady Meets Brown-Eyed Girl
    4. Green-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
    5. Green Stamp Lady

    Side Two:
    1. Green-Eyed Lady is a Tramp
    2. Green-Toothed Lady (UK only version)
    3. Green Sugar
    4. Green Eyed Lady (With a Blue Dress On)
    5. Fried Green-Eyed Lady Tomatoes

    Now I can't wait for Volume 2.

  • Ugh! I can't stand that song! Did you see me waving at you while I was in your city?!

  • Angi and Beth were in New York

I think that green eyed girl that is on your profile photo was on National Geographic wasn't she?

you made up all those songs I bet

  • @jillcarmel -   No, Jill.  Actually that's my lovely wife.  I'll tell her what you said, though.  She'll be thrilled!

  • It is easy being green, I should know.

  • don't you have work to do?

  • You forgot "Green Eyed Lady Kisses Blue Eyed Boy"

  • @jillcarmel - Darling, Ed just pretends that he works.  His whole purpose in life is to tease his Xanga friends.

  • @TheGreenPanther -  And I lovely shade I must say.

  • @Ed_Kaz - Why thank you, dahling

  • mmmm... I'd like to take a listen :>)

and you are starting to sound like our president with that last comment..hehe.

  • @sherab_zangmo -   I'll burn a copy for you.  Literally.

  • Husband says you can't forget the all time favorite "Green Eyed Bag Lady"!

    :>)

  • Doubtlessly culled from the landmark albums "Green Eyed Lady On The Edge Of Town"; "Blown To Smithereens By A Green Eyed Lady"; "Green Eyed Lady On The Tracks" and "Highway 61 Revisited By Green Eyed Lady, Film At 11"

  • It 'aint easy being a one hit wonder either!!

  • With a CD out like that, I don't think I'm able to come up with an intelligent comment. Except that a) i dont really know that song and b)I get your profile picture!!

  • Ah Edmund, how refreshing to get back here & read you today!  Your wit and sarcasm are exceeded in beauty only by the photo of the gorgeous Persian Princess whom you've obviously abducted from some obscure New Jersey harem.

(Um.....or could it be, perhaps, your delightfully lovely, intelligent, witty, and charming daughter doing her infamous Zombie impersonation?)

As for the rest -- as long as you're not dissing Norman Greenbaum, I'm gonna agree with everything you said, Shugah.  Oddly enough, however, although I've heard the tune eighty-eleventeen times, I had no idea that the group was green.  You think Al Gore knows?

  • @b0gdana -  That wasn't a bad comment Bee Zero.   Have you seen some of the other ones?

  • @FifiOToole -  Ah Feef.  I'd like to take your brain and shrine it off in my basement.  ILY!  kaz

  • @Ed_Kaz - You would?  Even with all the pot holes in it?

Well......yeah.  Okay.  I haven't used it for anything in ages -- so it's yours.  Fed Ex or UPS?

    And me too, you, Goobe.

  • What, no "Green, Green-Eyed Lady?"  No "Green-Eyed-Sleeves?"  No "Green, Green-Eyed Grass of Home?"  "It's Not Easy Bein' Green-Eyed?"

    Huh.  I'm stymied.

  • well, I  have Best of Strawberry Alarm Clock, so I know what you mean.

  • I could have replied to your comment on my own site but I'm not very fond of that feature. It seems kinda selfish hogging comments to myself. I liked "Green-eyed Lady" in its day and now it's very nostalgic for me. I don't know why. I've only ever known (in the Biblical sense) one green-eyed lady in my life and she was a junkie whore who ripped me off good.

And RYC: (there was nothing wrong with the old way)  neurosis has been my cross-bearing buddy.Thank God for marrijuanna. It saved me from the current rage of designer drugs (Prozac et-al). I would be a pill-popping zombie today if not for reefer. Wasn't it supposed to be legal by now?

  • This is too funny!  What a chorus of funny answers from your readers.  You forgot "Green-eyed Lady Had a Brown-eyed Baby Down in the Black-eyed Pea Patch."

  • Hmmm. I've always liked that song, perhaps because my eyes are green. I think I have been called #1 on 2 though. :)

  • @ravensgift - Oh dear.  What's your #?  :)

  • Hey,I think that I have a Sugarloaf album in the attic w/o green eyes on it,but I have me some green eyes,so not to worry.
